Goodbye, Golden Hour: Outfits for Summer + Fall

heart-01.png

If Golden Hour were a time of year, it would be right now. As the sun sets on summer, I’m bringing you outfit inspiration for whatever your fall season may bring.

The first outfit is fun and flirty. When I saw this skirt online, I was instantly drawn to its lively pattern, which reminded me of a Monet painting. The pattern is played up by the flirty silhouette: ruching on the sides and a slight flare keeps things fun and interesting. To match the skirt’s neutral tone and playful, feminine vibes, I went with a white milk-maid style top and some beige block heels. For makeup and accessories, I chose periwinkle eyeliner, some statement aquamarine jewelry, and a pearl necklace. To complete the outfit, I added this adorable wooden bag I got from ASOS forever ago.

Purse: Old ASOS DESIGN bamboo beaded handbag

This getup from Realisation Par (the Mary Jane in the shade “Shrooms”) is just as trippy as the name suggests. Surprisingly reminiscent of something a flower child would wear to Woodstock, the warm-toned flowers combine to create an unforgettable dress that is truly a statement piece. While gorgeous in any lighting, this dress, like the flowers adorning it, is in full bloom when under the sun.

I paired the dress with a forest green net bag which I then filled with red apples (to match the dress of course). Delicious and decorative. The dress is already attention-grabbing, so I organized the rest of my outfit around it, opting for some burnt orange eyeshadow, semi-sheer knee-high socks and platform Mary Janes to tie together the 70s vibes.

The last outfit is simple and sophisticated. Button up shirts are versatile and wearable year-round, and this one that I recently purchased second-hand makes me feel like a million bucks. The flowy, champagne silk is so elegant, you can hardly tell I tied the shirt in the back with a hair tie and tucked it into my bra. The opulence of the shirt easily dresses up my effortless Re/Done jeans that I’ve been wearing all summer. I accessorized with a simple chunky gold chain and some matching gold rings since this outfit already screams “I’m put together.” To finish the look, I went with some black heeled boots, mostly so that my too-long jeans didn’t drag on the grass.
